The TradeBeam Origin Management solution enables users to identify the best sourcing options using continually updated trade data, duty rates and rules of origin. With continuously updated trade content (duty rates and rules of origin), the system can calculate FTA eligibility for multiple sourcing and shipping scenarios. A well-executed origin management plan can can reduce net customs duties between 5 and 50 percent. The system then provides the tools you need to execute the optimization plan and maintain compliance.
In addition, the TradeBeam solution determines non-preferential origin (also called economic origin), assisting users in determining the country of origin for a product, and ensuring the appropriate country of origin information is shown on the documentation and shared with supply chain partners. The system creates an audit trail that allows users to sustain their preferential claims when audited by local authorities and decreases the risk of non-compliance penalties. Origin Determination and FTA Eligibility
Use the product and BOM information in Global Parts Catalog and Trade Content to calculate the contribution percentage by FTA and/or country and apply the Tariff Shift rules applicable for the specific item to determine FTA eligibility and economic origin. The system applies the legally required calculation methods, including accumulated, non-accumulated, traced, qualified, diagonal, transaction value-based, net cost value-based, and de minimis, among other methods.
Classification and Global Parts Catalog
Provides a mechanism for HS classifications for all parts, storage/attachments of relevant documents at SKU level, and flags on validity of HS codes (including codes made obsolete by legislative amendments).
Origin-related Document Generation
Enables generation of a Certificate of Origin and origin documentation needed to pass audits from local authorities in the importing country. Create various reports and questionnaires that individual countries require to be filed annually or semiannually.
Solicitation (Vendor Management)
Create solicitation packages, allow for supplier data collection at the SKU level and create reports with validity dates of vendor materials.
Vendor Submission of Information
Upon your approval, vendors can access the relevant parts of the product catalog (i.e., their own items), and submit data directly to the catalog via a Web interface, increasing direct collection of information and decreasing your workload.
