TradeBeam Promotes China Trade Activities through Joint Effort with Ministry of Commerce
New FTA Duty Rate Query System enables Chinese foreign trade enterprises to explore free trade options
SAN MATEO, Calif. – January 13, 2010 – TradeBeam, the leader in SaaS-based global trade management solutions (GTM), today announced that its Global Trade Compliance (GTC) technology was chosen by The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) for China’s new Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Duty Rate Query System. The FTA system encourages Chinese foreign trade enterprises to further explore the benefits of favorable free trade policies.
The new FTA Duty Rate Query System is supported by TradeBeam China and powered by TradeBeam’s GTM content. The new FTA Duty Rate Query System provides Chinese exporters current, preferential and future duty rates. In addition, it provides the customs tariff and duty data of China’s FTA partners. The system, designed to promote free trade policy adoption by China’s foreign trade enterprises, supports applications such as commodity classification, dynamic duty rate query, preferential and non-preferential duty rate navigation.
“TradeBeam is proud to be the official supply chain technology and global trade content provider for the Chinese Government. Our (FTA) Duty Rate Query system is a new platform to further open and speed up domestic reforms,” said Buff Jones, President and COO, of TradeBeam. “Furthermore, this platform is an effective approach for natural integration into the global economy and facilitates cooperation with other countries, which is a critical component to the global trading system.”
Currently, China is working with over 37 countries and regions to establish 16 Free Trade Areas, of which 8 Free Trade Agreements have been already implemented.
